location: Centre
Hardly any waits at the lifts, sunshine from morning till evening, snug shelters and mountain inns, ski school and kindergarten, a fun park and numerous powdery slopes for snowboard aficionados and lots and lots of snow. The Zettersfeld ski area constitutes a sort of sun terrace with a magnificent view of the Lienz Dolomites and it has pistes for skiers, snowboarders, families with kids and beginners. The single-rope gondola lift system transports you up to 1,800 metres and from there a comfortable four-seater chairlift takes you to 2,200 metres, where your skiing adventure with a difference begins. The Hochstein ski area with its fabulous downhills ( 7 km long) right into the town is for the sporty skier. Every two years women’s world cup races are held here and the slalom and giant slalom have come to be regarded as the traditional end-of-year events in the world cup calendar. From mid-December until end of March our free ski bus takes you to the bottom stations of the Lienzer Bergbahnen at Hochstein and Zettersfeld. The Zettersfeld ski area opened on the begin of December.
