What is Entente Florale? Entente Florale is an annual horticultural competition for towns and villages in Europe. In 1975 France and England arranged the first Entente Florale. For over 30 years now more and more countries have been taking part, each represented by one city and one town/village. From the very start the objective of this comprehensive and elaborate project has been to sustain a pleasant living and working environment for the citizens and to improve existing features by focusing on green areas and flowers in the towns and villages.
Aims of Entente FloraleThe main objective of the competition is to encourage the planting of flowers and shrubs in towns and villages in order to improve the quality of life of urban dwellers. The special aspect of Entente Florale is that it pays particular attention to how closely the authorities, bodies and individuals in the city, town or village co-operate and how they identify with the project.
